College Security Report May 31 – June 8, 2011
May 31
4:30 p.m. — A student reported to security that her unregistered bike had been stolen from the bike racks at Arnold Hall. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.
7:42 p.m. — Security responded to a “smoke” alarm at Abercorn Terrace. Upon security’s arrival the alarm system box read “normal”.
9:35 p.m. — Security discovered the front door to Evans Hall unsecured. A walk through of the building was conducted and the door was secured.
10:40 p.m. — Security received a call from a student requesting to speak with an on-call counselor. Dispatch called the counselor and passed on the student’s contact information.
June 1
1:31 a.m. — Security received a call from a student requesting to speak with an on-call counselor. Dispatch called the counselor and passed on the student’s contact information.
3:30 p.m. — A student notified security that she either lost a SCAD library book or it was stolen.
3:55 p.m. — Security responded to a “trouble” alarm at Pulaski House. Sonitrol was notified of the alarm.
6:42 p.m. — Security responded to a “trouble” alarm at Alexander Hall. The alarm would not reset. Maintenance was notified of the alarm.
10:09 p.m. — Security responded to a “trouble” alarm at Anderson Hall. The alarm would not reset. Maintenance was notified of the alarm.
11:40 p.m. — Security responded to a “smoke” alarm at Boundary Village. The alarm was determined to be a false alarm and the system was reset.
June 2
1:05 a.m. — A student reported that she had been mugged at gunpoint at an off-campus location at Jefferson and Barnard streets. The student was not injured and surrendered a purse containing ID, a debit card and $3 to the assailant. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.
5:30 p.m. — A staff member reported to security that her husband’s bicycle had been stolen from the bike racks at Bradley Hall between 1:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.
June 3
10 a.m. — A student reported to security that a Nintendo Gameboy and some of his personal documents were missing from his dorm room. The student had last seen the items May 27. The student did not wish to file a police report.
2:20 p.m. — A student reported to security that she slipped on an oily substance at Barnard Village earlier in the day. The student did not want EMS response.
11:01 p.m. — Security was notified that a student and her parents had been mugged while walking from Dyson House to a restaurant on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. The suspect was apprehended 15 minutes after the incident. All Items were returned and there were no injuries reported. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police issued a crime report.
1 p.m. — A student reported to security that her bike had been stolen from the Oglethorpe House bike racks between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.
3 p.m. — A student reported to security that his bike had been stolen from the Dyson House bike rack. The student did not wish to file a police report.
3:15 p.m. — Security discovered graffiti on the second floor of Turner House. Maintenance was notified.
6:40 p.m. — Security responded to a medical call at River Club. A guest fainted and EMS responded to the scene. The guest declined treatment and departed the site with her daughter.
11:10 p.m. — A resident director notified security that a small amount of marijuana was found in room of Dyson House after the occupants had moved out. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and removed the marijuana.

1:15 p.m. — Security responded to a “smoke” alarm activation at Barnard Village. Security met the Savannah Fire Department at the scene where it was determined that the alarm was a false alarm. The system was silenced and reset.
