College Security Report October 24-30, 2011

October 24

9:30 a.m. — Security responded to a medical call at Anderson Hall involving a student fainting. The student did not want EMS response.

7:25 p.m. — Security responded to a room of Dyson House at the request of the resident director regarding a possible drug policy violation. The RD conducted a search of the room and found a small quantity of marijuana. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and disposed of the small quantity of marijuana. None of the occupants of the dorm were charged.

October 25

10:35 a.m. — Security responded to a call regarding a vehicle accident in the Hamilton Hall lot at 5 p.m. on Oc. 24. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.

2:40 p.m. — Security responded to an alarm at the River Club. The alarm could not be silenced. Stanley Convergent Security Solutions was informed of the alarm and responded to the scene to correct the problem.

8:30 p.m. — A student reported to security that her bike was stolen from Arnold Hall sometime after 7 p.m. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.

October 26

10:40 a.m. — A student reported to security that a digital camera and electronic translator were missing from her graduate studio at Eichberg Hall. The items were last seen on Oct. 12. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.

5 p.m. — A student reported to security that her bike was stolen from an off-campus location. The student stated she would also contact Savannah-Chatham Metro Police and file a report.

5:20 p.m. — Security responded to a vehicle accident at 61st and Habersham streets involving a student that backed into a parked car. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.

October 27

6 p.m. — Savannah-Chatham Metro Police called security to inform them of a student transported to Memorial University Medical Center from an off-campus location. The on-call manager was notified.

October 28

7 a.m. — Savannah-Chatham Metro Police called security and requested assistance with an intoxicated student at Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Gwinnett Street. The student refused help and police followed the student home.

1:52 p.m. — Savannah-Chatham Metro Police called security to inform them of a student placed under arrest for shoplifting from Urban Outfitters. Security notified the on-call manager of the arrest.

October 29

4:14 a.m. — Security confronted a male visitor at Abercorn Terrace who was attempting to scale a wall and enter his girlfriend’s dorm. The man had been asked to leave the area earlier that morning because he did not have a guest pass and appeared to be intoxicated. The individual left when he was told police response had been requested.

8:50 p.m. — Security responded to a vehicle accident involving a First Transit bus that struck the railing on the Weston/Dyson bridge. First transit was notified of the accident.

11:48 p.m. — Security responded to a medical call at a room of Weston House involving a student who claimed to be having an appendicitis attack. The resident director arranged for the student to be transported to Memorial University Medical Center via Yellow Cab.

October 30

3:56 a.m. — Security responded to a medical call at a room of Turner Annex involving a student that purposely injured herself. The on-call counselor and resident director responded to the scene and requested EMS presence. EMS transported the student to Memorial University Medical Center.
