News brief: Here’s one for all the kitten lovers

Thanks to donations from local businesses and former SCAD student Adolfo Hernandez, Savannah-Chatham Animal Control now has a new play pen for their kitties.

Pepsi Bottling Group Inc. provided crates for the kitties to play in. Lowe’s helped design a plan for the project as well as donated necessary materials. To enliven the space and bring out a few colors, local artist and former SCAD student Adolfo Hernandez donated his time to creating a mural as the play pen’s backdrop. As the finishing touch, Savannah Floor Covering donated a carpet for the kitties to sleep on.

“The final product is fantastic! It’s a fun, colorful place for a lot of kitties to play. The play tower utilizes vertical space which allows more cats to be in the room, seen and hopefully adopted,” comments public information officer Gena Moore.

Savannah-Chatham Animal Control invites anyone interested to join in the unveiling of the “Kitty Play Place,” on Friday, July 29, at 10:30 a.m. at the Savannah-Chatham Animal Control Shelter.
