Port City Review announces gallery opening for 2023 issue

Written by Katelyn Myrick.

Since 2012, Port City Review has showcased the best student artwork and creative writing across all majors and mediums. Throughout the last decade, Port City Review has won over 23 awards and has held an annual gallery presenting the selected works since 2016. This annual tradition paused in 2019 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, but for the first time in four years, Port City Review will host a gallery celebrating student work in the 2023 issue.

The gallery will take place at the Pei Ling Chan Gallery on May 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. At 4:00 p.m., there will be a reception with snacks, drinks and readings from student authors. Visual art will be shown in the gallery space, and videos and animations will play on screens.

The gallery is open to the public, and copies of the 2023 issue of Port City Review will be distributed. SCAD students attending the gallery are welcome to use it as an extra-learning opportunity for classes. All are invited to attend the fifth annual Port City Review gallery and celebrate the renewal of a tradition and the artists featured.
